Ana Paula Affonso Brito
is a trial lawyer with over 20 years’ experience in complex IP litigation, with a strong focus on SEPs. She represents domestic and international clients in high-stakes disputes before Brazilian courts, and has extensive experience in advising on SEP enforcement and defence strategies, essentiality and validity issues, and litigation risk management, often working closely with in-house teams. Her practice sits at the intersection of patent law, competition considerations and technical standards. She is Head of the Committee on Standard Essential Patents and FRAND Licensing of the Brazilian Intellectual Property Association and a member of the 5G, Technical Standards and Technological Innovation Committee of the Rio de Janeiro Bar Association.
