About Akimoto Kawamura

Akimoto Kawamura is a senior partner of Atsumi & Sakai’s Tokyo head office and a key member of the firm’s cross-border M&A practice team. He focuses on M&A and other corporate and securities law matters, and with more than 30 years’ practice, he has extensive experience in matters such as domestic and cross-border M&A, private equity, domestic and international joint ventures, and investments into Japan and by Japanese companies overseas, as well as other regulatory aspects of transactions. Prior to joining the firm, he worked as Japan general counsel for Citigroup Japan, where he co-ordinated the overall activities of the Japan legal department.
