He has practised as an international trade lawyer for a decade, acting in over 60 anti-dumping and countervailing investigations as well as safeguards investigations, customs disputes, export controls/sanctions compliance, complex domestic and cross-border commercial transactions and judicial review litigation. Alistair is a Specialist in Administrative Law accredited by the Law Institute of Victoria. He has a master's degree (with merit) in law – specialising in international law – from the Australian National University, and is also a Bachelor of Economics and a Bachelor of Law (with honours) from the University of Tasmania.
