About Bernhard Thum

Bernhard Thum is the managing partner of Thum & Partner, having previously been an equity partner at a leading German patent law firm for more than 15 years. His practice focuses on patent litigation and multi-jurisdictional disputes. Bernhard has been involved in more than 20 UPC cases, and has pleaded the validity aspect of a case leading to the CoA’s landmark decision on inventive step. He also acts as an expert in national and international proceedings. Bernhard advises on strategic IP portfolio development and cross-border enforcement, combining extensive litigation experience with a strong understanding of complex legal and technical issues.
