About Katsuya Hongyo

Katsuya Hongyo is a partner at Chuo Sogo and is admitted to practice in Japan and New York. His practice areas include IP, international transactions, financial regulations, and compliance. He represents Japanese and overseas clients in IP litigation and dispute resolution. He also advises Japanese start-ups regarding patent, trade mark, and copyright-related issues. While working as a visiting attorney at Kirkland & Ellis in Chicago, he represented a pharmaceutical and medical device company in patent litigation against a Japanese company. He received an LLM degree with honours from Northwestern Law in 2022 and is fluent in both Japanese and English.
