Janina Heinz is a financial services regulatory specialist and partner at Freshfields, based in Frankfurt. Her broad practice covers advisory work for global financial institutions and fintech companies, M&A transactions in the financial services sector and investigations/enforcement-related matters. Janina regularly advises clients in non-contentious and contentious proceedings with financial supervisory and regulatory authorities such as the European Central Bank (ECB), the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) and the German Financial Services Supervisory Authority (Bafin). She has previously worked as legal counsel for the ECB.
