About Jim Smith

Jim Smith is a founding partner of Smith Hurst with more than 30 years’ experience advising entrepreneurs, executives, family offices, closely held businesses, and funds on transactions, governance, succession, investing, and business planning. A CPA with an LL.M. in Taxation from New York University, his practice includes mergers and acquisitions, securities, private placements, venture capital, fund formation, real estate, and outside general counsel services. Jim is active in community, business, and philanthropic organisations throughout Northwest Arkansas, supporting initiatives focused on economic development, education, and charitable impact. His counsel combines senior transactional experience with practical tax-informed guidance.
