About Juan Ramón Cancio-Ortiz

Juan Ramón Cancio-Ortiz is the managing partner at Cancio Covas & Santiago. His legal practice focuses primarily on corporate and commercial law, M&A transactions, banking, real estate, securities, restructurings and municipal finance. Mr Cancio has participated in countless municipal and corporate securities offerings, including a wide range of financial products (swaps, hedges, derivative products, etc). In addition to handling the transactional and regulatory aspects of these transactions, he has also been involved in their tax-related aspects. Mr Cancio has also handled commercial litigation in both local courts and the US Court of Appeals for the First Circuit.
