About Julio Lavín Valdes

Julio Lavín Valdes is the firm's founding partner and head of its Natural Resources Department. His key practice areas are environment, maritime concessions, sanitary services, constitutional and administrative law. His alternative energy and power section clients include: Colbun S.A., Engie Chile S.A., AES Gener S.A., Guacolda Energía S.A., HidroÑuble SpA, Aguas Pácifico, CGX Castilla Generación S.A., Origin Energy. Julio has held many professorships, most recently holding the positions of: Professor of Environmental Law in the Master of Company Law Program, Los Andes University Faculty of Law (2004-2007) and the Diploma in Real Estate Law (2011-2017); and Professor of Environmental Law for the Diploma in Environmental Law, P. Universidad Católica de Chile Faculty of Law (2012-2017). Julio has published widely on environmental law issues, including an article entitled 'Challenges of the Remediation of Mining Environmental Liabilities' in Revista Nueva Minería y Energía (New Mining and Energy Journal) in 2017.
