About Mei Fern Johnson

Mei Fern Johnson is a partner at Russell McVeagh. She is a multi-award-winning lawyer with 25 years’ experience advising on energy, infrastructure, technology and transport projects. Her experience covers renewable energy generation, BESS, contribution to policy development for NZ’s offshore renewable energy regime, and investments in gas transition projects. She supports asset owners and operators on transition to renewable-powered infrastructure and decarbonisation projects. Mei Fern is the lead editor for Russell McVeagh’s popular Energy Blog. She was director of a New Zealand government-owned infrastructure investment company and is currently director of a company offering climate resilience insurance in South East Asia.
