About Naira Simmons

Naira Simmons is co-chair of the Intellectual Property Department at Pierson Ferdinand LLP, where she leads the IP Procurement practice. She specialises in patent prosecution in the life sciences industry, with particular expertise in gene therapy, diagnostics, and genomic sequencing technologies. Naira manages complex domestic and international patent portfolios for clients including Sanofi S.A, Roche Molecular Diagnostics, Adverum Biotechnologies (up until its acquisition by Eli Lilly & Co.), ImmunoVec, Delphi Diagnostics, and Clear Labs. She has played a pivotal role in building one of the most modern IP practices in the country. Naira is a registered patent attorney before the USPTO and holds both a PhD and a JD.
