About Shigeki Okatani

Shigeki Okatani is a leading member of MHM's energy and infrastructure practice. He has advised domestic and foreign sponsors and lenders on many renewable projects – including solar, onshore and offshore wind, geothermal and hydro projects – in Japan and other Asian countries. He represented a project company and its sponsors in the first offshore wind project in Japan (financial closing: February 2020). He has extensive experience in advising on regulatory matters related to those projects, including the regulation of electricity businesses, electricity safety, construction, labour and the environment. He also advises foreign clients on corporate PPAs in Japan.
