About Stefan Altenschmidt

Stefan Altenschmidt is a partner in Luther’s Dusseldorf office and co-head of the firm’s environment, planning and regulatory (EPR) team. From 2003 to 2011, Stefan worked for Freshfields in Dusseldorf and London, and joined Luther in 2011. He advises companies and trade associations on mining law (onhore and offshore activities), environmental law, climate protection and emissions trading law, as well as planning law. He also represents his clients at national administrative and constitutional courts and at the European Court of Justice. He is regarded by various legal directories as one of Germany’s leading lawyers in the area of public law.
