About Stephen Scholefield

Stephen Scholefield leads the Pinsent Masons national pensions team, advising trustees and sponsors on all aspects of pension law and governance. He is the longstanding trusted adviser to many ongoing pension schemes and has guided trustees along the journey from establishing a scheme through to buy-out and wind-up. Alongside day-to-day governance advice, specialisms include complex re-organisations and corporate transactions, buyins and buyouts, schemes in challenging situations and helping schemes with their long-term strategic planning, including surplus sharing arrangements. He also has significant experience of regulatory and contentious pension matters, including proceedings before The Pensions Regulator, the Pensions Ombudsman and the courts.
