Philip Simpson, QC
is one of the UK’s leading tax QCs, whose work covers all aspects of UK tax. He provides tax planning advice and acts in tax litigation. He appears regularly at all levels of the UK court system, including the Supreme Court. His litigation practice covers mainly VAT, but recent examples of other taxes include income tax, pensions taxation, UK residence issues, capital gains tax and environmental taxes. His advisory practice tends to involve direct tax issues. Recent work has covered stamp duty land tax, environmental taxes, IHT, stamp duty, income tax/offshore trusts and corporation tax.
