About Robert Kirunda
Robert Kirunda
is the founding and managing partner of Kirunda & Co. Advocates. His practice focuses on AI governance, technology transactions, data protection, dispute resolution and cross-border digital operations. He advises corporations, technology companies and start-ups, and represents clients in technology-related disputes. Robert served on Uganda’s National 4IR Taskforce, led a multidisciplinary legal and policy audit of Uganda’s science, technology and innovation framework, and provided expert input to Parliament’s Legal and Parliamentary Affairs Committee on integrating AI into copyright legislation. He convenes the Centre for Law and Emerging Technologies at Makerere University. He is a member of the Permanent Court of Arbitration, the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, the East African Law Society and the Uganda Law Society.
