About Rainer Hilli

Rainer Hilli is a partner at Roschier with expertise in intellectual property matters, and leads the firm’s intellectual property practice. He is one of the most experienced patent advisers in the Nordics and frequently advises on complex patent matters, including enforcement strategies, litigation, arbitration, licensing, regulatory and transactional advice. His experience covers multi-jurisdictional patent litigation in the pharmaceuticals, chemicals and telecommunications sectors. Rainer is praised as “the foremost patent litigator in Finland and has a strong presence in court” (Chambers, 2025). He is a UPC representative and has appeared several times before the CJEU. He is an advisory board member of the European Patent Lawyers Association (EPLAW), and frequently writes articles and gives lectures about patent-related topics.
