He leads every major matter involving joint ventures, private equity, acquisitions, restructuring, corporate governance, franchising and distributions, contract management, public tenders, procurement, government relations, government contracts, defence contracts and public international law. After graduating from Istanbul University, Ümit won a Fulbright Scholarship and earned LLM degrees from American University Washington College of Law and the University of Virginia School of Law. He is a board member of the International Law Institute in Washington, DC, and a founder and former president of the Istanbul chapter of the ILI. He is also a current advisory board member of the Corporate Governance Association of Turkey.
