About Bill Gilliland

Bill Gilliland is a partner in Dentons’ corporate, M&A and capital markets practice groups and leads Dentons' ESG Igniter Group in Canada. He advises on M&A and capital markets transactions, primarily in the power, renewable energy, and energy infrastructure sectors. Bill has worked with board special committees on strategic transactions and has advised numerous public company boards of directors on governance and decision-making issues. He is a leader in sustainable finance and climate-related governance and disclosure. Bill holds the ICD.D designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors and has published a paper on the implications for boards and public company governance of the proposed Canadian climate-related disclosure rules.
