About Kate Brown de Vejar

Kate Brown de Vejar is a partner and global co-chair of international arbitration and US head of international arbitration at DLA Piper, concentrating on international commercial and investor-state arbitration. An Australian- and New York-qualified attorney, resident in Mexico City since 2009, Kate is recognised for her experience handling complex high-profile disputes, notably in the energy and infrastructure sectors. She is a current member of the LCIA Court and President of the LCIA’s Latin American and Caribbean Users’ Council; a member of ICCA’s Governing Board, and chair of ICCA’s Initiatives Committee. She currently serves as Senior Vice Chair of the IBA’s Arbitration Committee and will take the helm of the committee in 2026.
