Guohua (Annie) Wu
is a senior partner who spearheads the mining and cross-border M&A practice, with private equity as another area of expertise. Her clients include some of the largest funds and industrial companies in China and the world. For example, Ms Wu served as lead counsel to a quasi-sovereign wealth fund in the proposed acquisition by a Chinese consortium of the controlling equity stake in Philips' LED business, with the total value of the deal projected to be USD3.3 billion. She also served as lead counsel to Bombardier in its first aviation joint venture in China, during which process the PRC Company Law was substantially revised and key incorporation requirements with respect to Sino-foreign joint ventures were replaced. Ms Wu, who has a Juris Doctorate degree from Cornell Law School, is licensed to practise law in China and the states of New York and Illinois, and is a member of the United States Supreme Court Bar.
