About Māris Vainovskis

Māris Vainovskis of Eversheds Sutherland Bitāns has been involved in most of the largest M&A and banking and finance-related projects in the country during his more than 20 years of legal experience. He has acted in an advisory capacity in more than 200 M&A sector deals and advised sellers and buyers not only in M&As but also in complex reorganisations and asset deals, including with deal values in excess of EUR100 million. This year he became the only lawyer in Latvia ranked as Band 1 for corporate/commercial and banking and finance by Chambers and Partners. He has a master’s degree in law from the University of Latvia and an International Practice Diploma from the College of Law of England and Wales. He is a member of the Latvian Bar Association.
