About Amr A Abbas

Amr A Abbas is a partner and heads the arbitration and competition groups at Matouk Bassiouny. He also teaches at Cairo University and on the Law & Economics LLM programme between Hamburg University and Cairo University. Dr Abbas’s practice focuses on commercial arbitration, investment arbitration, competition and international trade disputes. He has acted as a chairman, sole arbitrator and co-arbitrator, and as a legal expert in investment and commercial arbitration. Prior to joining Matouk Bassiouny, he worked with White & Case LLP and the World Bank in Washington, DC, and Egyptian law firms in Cairo. Dr Abbas currently represents clients in CRCICA, ICC, LCIA, ad hoc and ICSID arbitrations.
