Amr A Abbas
heads Matouk Bassiouny & Hennawy’s arbitration and competition groups. He also teaches at Cairo University and on the Law and Economics LLM programme between Hamburg University and Cairo University. Amr’s practice focuses on commercial arbitration, investment arbitration, competition and international trade disputes. He has acted as a chairman, sole arbitrator and co-arbitrator, and legal expert in investment and commercial arbitration. Prior to joining Matouk Bassiouny & Hennawy, Amr worked with White & Case LLP and the World Bank in Washington, DC, and Egyptian law firms in Cairo. He currently represents clients in Cairo Regional Centre for International Commercial Arbitration, ICC, LCIA, ad hoc and ICSID arbitrations.
