is a partner in the competition group at DLA Piper Bucharest and has 16 years’ experience advising a diverse range of companies, mainly from the life sciences sector but also from FMCG and retail, automotive, advertising and media, in all matters related to competition law. Alina has been involved in co-ordinating legal teams working on merger control procedures concerning complex markets, as well as on high-profile investigations of the Romanian Competition Council (RCC) and regulatory work in the FMCG/retail sector. She has represented clients before the RCC in investigations – both sector inquiries and targeted investigations aimed at potential breaches of national competition legislation and EU rules. She regularly advises on compliance matters and assesses the competition-related implications of a broad range of business models.
