Nicosia Lawson is a senior associate with Baker & Partners. Her practice primarily focuses on civil fraud and asset recovery, including cryptocurrency and blockchain matters, cross-border insolvency, and restructuring. Her experience includes working on prominent cases like the 1MDB fraud scandal, which involves the recovery of an estimated USD7.65 billion stolen from a Malaysian sovereign wealth fund. She recently acted for investors in a successful petition to wind up the Cayman Islands domiciled holding company of the failed cryptocurrency exchange, AAX. In 2022, she was shortlisted for the “Next Gen of the Year” award by the Recovery and Insolvency Specialists Association (Cayman).
