Emma Russell
practises in Lawson Lundell LLP’s environmental and regulatory group, advising clients on a wide range of issues including environmental compliance and permitting, contaminated sites and reclamation, the regulation of public utilities, regulatory prosecutions, administrative monetary penalties, economic development on reserve lands, and the duty to consult. She has a particular interest in constitutional law and the intersection between federal, provincial and indigenous jurisdiction in environmental decision-making. Emma has represented clients before all levels of court in British Columbia and at various administrative bodies, including the BC Utilities Commission and Environmental Appeal Board, and has experience in the Northwest Territories.
