About Edward Dean

Edward Dean is a senior associate at Freshfields in Tokyo, and a graduate of the College of Europe. He has extensive experience in high-profile and complex mergers, cartels and behavioural matters, and related litigation. His experience spans a range of sectors, with a focus on technology, telecommunications, aerospace and defence. Prior to joining Freshfields, Edward practised EU and UK competition law at a leading international firm in Brussels; he now advises international and Japanese clients on the same issues from Tokyo. Edward is a native English speaker, proficient in French and has a working knowledge of Japanese.
