About Martina de Lind van Wijngaarden

Martina de Lind van Wijngaarden has broad experience in handling large-scale litigation and cross-border investigation mandates. She is particularly admired for her strategic management and skilful co-ordination of large-scale multi-jurisdictional proceedings for multinational clients. Martina advised various banks and financial institutions during investigations into alleged misconduct and systems and controls issues. For more than nine years she has been leading Volkswagen’s worldwide defence outside the US against customer claims arising from the global recall of VW diesel vehicles in relation to NOx emissions. She is overseeing thousands of individual claims in Germany as well as class actions and collective actions brought against Volkswagen in more than a dozen jurisdictions in Europe and the rest of the world. Martina also advises EY on its defence against damage claims brought by investors and lenders of the insolvent Wirecard AG.
