About Zeynep Şengören Özcan

Zeynep Şengören Özcan is a senior consultant at Balcıoğlu Selçuk Ardıyok Keki Attorney Partnership (BASEAK)’s competition law, public policy and regulation practice. Throughout her 13-year career in the Turkish Competition Authority, Zeynep has participated in many outstanding antitrust investigations, M&A, and exemption/negative clearance assessments – mainly in the digital, finance, energy, automotive, transportation, tourism, and chemicals sectors. She has recently worked on attempts to regulate big tech companies in Türkiye. Zeynep presented Türkiye’s contributions at the OECD and other international conferences, and also took part in the preparation of some secondary legislation – notably, the Merger Regulation and Block Exemption on Vertical Agreements in the Motor Vehicles Sector 2017/3 and its Guidelines.
