Lorne D Crerar is the firm's senior partner in the Banking and Finance and Sports Sector Groups and is an active member of the Public Sector Group. Lorne is a leading sports practitioner with particular experience and profile in discipline; adviser to World Rugby; head of discipline for EPRC; Six Nations and SRU. Professor Lorne Crerar, Chairman, is a member of the SRU and is principal adviser and leader of the SRU Disciplinary Panel in relation to disciplinary matters. The SRU conferred on him "Emeritus" status in relation to his "tremendous service to the game of rugby." A former rugby player and referee, Lorne is a former Chairman of the European Rugby Cup Tournament (EPCR) and was also a Judicial Officer at the Rugby World Cup 2015 and part of the judicial team at the inaugural Rugby 7s tournament at the 2016 Rio Olympics. He is a former Chairman of the Discipline Panels for the SRU, European Rugby Cup and Six Nations. He was an IRB "elite judge" and was also the Judicial Officer for the Rugby World Cup Final in both 2015 and 2011. He regularly writes for leading sports publications. Lorne Crerar trained the discipline panel members in the Six Nations discipline panel before this year's Six Nations. For over 15 years, Lorne has chaired the EPCR disciplinary panel, delivering training and overseeing the European-wide competitions.
