About István Szalay-Csala

István Szalay-Csala is a junior associate in the corporate/M&A team at Bird & Bird’s Budapest office. He graduated from the Faculty of Law at Eötvös Loránd University with a specialisation in civil law in 2022. Since then, he has actively participated in numerous corporate restructurings and cross-border M&A transactions, notably co-ordinating complex legal due diligence processes involving multi-jurisdictional teams and drafting the associated transaction documents. He also advises creditors in liquidation proceedings and is involved in various litigation matters. István is expected to be admitted to the Bar in early 2026.
