About Marina Reason

Marina Reason is group head of the advisory (non-contentious) team at Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer in London and advises a wide range of financial services clients including wholesale and retail banks as well as brokers and asset managers. Marina has extensive experience on advising on the intersection between regulatory requirements and digital assets and technologies. She has advised “bigtechs”, fintechs and traditional financial services institutions on a variety of issues, including strategic structuring, launch of new products, licensing perimeter, launch of new products, registration, marketing requirements and multi-jurisdictional advice. Marina has also helped clients navigate emerging technology issues such as the metaverse, DLT and tokenisation of traditional financial instruments. She has also worked with a leading trade association in its work on the UK FMI Sandbox and, outside of the digital assets space, Marina acts as strategic advisor to clients on a broad spectrum of financial services regulation.
