About Tiago de Mattos

Tiago de Mattos is a partner of William Freire Advogados Associados, head of the Mining Industry, and is the President of the Brazilian Institute of Mineral Law. Tiago graduated from the Federal University of Minas Gerais and has an LLM degree (distinction) in Mineral Law and Policy from the Centre for Energy, Petroleum, Minela Law and Policy (CEPMLP) at the University of Dundee, UK. Tiago has in-depth expertise in mining industry legal issues, and is a professor, author and speaker. He is regularly listed as an outstanding lawyer in the Brazilian mining industry. He specialises in mineral law, regulations and governance, mining transactions/contracts/corporate issues and mineral disputes.
