Juan has handled matters such as tax treaties, permanent establishment, foreign tax credits, controlled foreign corporation and thin-capitalisation issues related to investment structuring and cross-border M&A. A substantial part of his work has been dedicated to assisting clients on tax matters related to day-to-day operations, as well as for projects that have involved reorganisations, divestments, joint-venture structuring and other matters, focusing on the infrastructure, mining, energy and hospitality industries. Juan, who has an MBA from the IE Business School in Madrid, has been involved in international and Chilean tax structuring projects, both in the buyer and seller position, and led tax due diligence work in projects involving the acquisition and financing of projects in Chile.
