About Phiwa Masuku

Phiwa Masuku is a senior associate counsel at Africa Finance Corporation, serving as primary legal counsel to the treasury client solutions team. He advises on the structuring, negotiation and execution of derivatives and structured finance transactions, while also supporting AFC’s broader treasury activities across funding, capital markets, and asset and liability management. Phiwa has over a decade of experience across investment banking and multilateral development finance, with extensive experience structuring transactions across African markets and advising on complex cross-border structures. Prior to joining AFC, he held legal roles within the global markets divisions of major South African investment banks. Phiwa is an admitted attorney of the High Court of South Africa.
