Dr Eduardo Mayora
is the firm's managing partner and has more than 30 years of experience practicing Guatemalan law. His key areas of expertise include arbitration, banking law, securities exchange law, tax law, civil law and constitutional law. Dr Mayora has been recognised as a "thought leader" in banking, financial and corporate issues of LACCA, received the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award from the renowned Marquis Who's Who agency, and was recognised as Tax Attorney of the Year in the 2019 Latin American Lawyer Energy & Infrastructure Awards. Dr Mayora graduated as a lawyer and notary public from Rafael Landívar University of Guatemala, and has a master's degree from the University of Georgetown, Washington. He has two doctorates in law: one from Francisco Marroquin University of Guatemala and another from the Autonomous University of Barcelona. He has been a professor at several Guatemalan and foreign universities, teaching courses on various topics including financial and commercial agreements, civil proceedings, notarial law and economic analysis of the law.
