About Derek Woodhouse

Derek Woodhouse is a partner and head of the firm's energy practice. During the last 20 years, his experience has incorporated a broad spectrum of activities, including the conceptual design of structural reforms; the design and drafting of concessions, licences, permits and contracts; the design and implementation of procedures for the granting of contracts, concessions, licences and permits; the drafting and negotiation of the legal instruments necessary for financing infrastructure projects; and day-to-day revision and legal operation of ongoing energy projects. He advised the Energy Ministry drafting the Geothermal Energy Law, the implementation of the Wholesale Electricity Market and the restructuring of the National Electricity Commission (CFE).
