Mauricio Gómez Guerrero
has significant experience in Mexico’s life sciences and healthcare sector, both as a public officer holding senior positions at the Mexican Food and Drug Agency (COFEPRIS) and the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS), and in the private sector, launching the life sciences practice in a major international law firm in Mexico City and founding his own health law and public policy firm. In CMS his practice focuses on life sciences regulatory matters, pharmaceutical products, biotechnology, medical devices, cannabis, tobacco, food, beverages and consumer products. He advises clients on their regulatory strategy concerning pre-market clearance for drugs and medical devices, good manufacturing practices, certification for facilities, and borderline determination and classification of consumer products. Additionally, Mauricio has experience in regulatory enforcement administrative procedures, controlled substances and government affairs strategy. Since 2017, he has been involved in the evolution of cannabis regulation in Mexico, providing legal advice to investors and agriculture enterprises interested in the new cannabis market in Mexico.
