About Deepak Pillai

Deepak Pillai heads CLO’s TMT and data protection practice group and has practised in technology, telecommunications and data protection law since 1997. He advises international, private and public sector clients on IT and cloud contracts, electronic commerce, online financial services, outsourcing, telecoms, cybersecurity, data protection, AI and online content, including in complex regulatory, policy and legislative matters. Deepak has been consistently recognised by leading legal directories since 2001, and is ranked in Band 1 for TMT in the Chambers Asia-Pacific Guide 2026. He also serves on the PDPA Appeals Tribunal and the Malaysian Bar’s PDPA Committee.
