Lodewijk Van Setten
is senior counsel in the global regulatory and risk advisory group in Walkers' BVI office and has more than 20 years' financial services regulatory and risk-management experience, much of it accumulated in Europe and Asia. Lodewijk advises financial institutions on the buy and sell side, as well as market infrastructure participants, providing strategic and risk-based advice in connection with the structuring of new or developing business models, impact assessments, gap analyses, licence applications, authorisations, registrations and notifications. His expertise ranges across the regulatory spectrum from investment, banking, and payment services, to AML, sanctions, CRS and FATCA, economic substance, transparency of beneficial ownership, and data protection regimes.
