Juan Carlos Bustamante
is the senior partner and head of the tax department, who has provided legal advice to individuals as well as national and international companies from the public and private sectors. He has also practised in the field of business development, public procurement and negotiations under commercial agreements. Among the diverse range of matters handled are contracts for repaying debt to the State; advice on issues of energy, insurance, contracts with banks, the purchase/sale of movable and immovable property, grant of security, foreign investment, contracts for setting up trusts to pay liabilities under transactions with the State and involving foreign financial institutions; and guidance on the issuance of bonds. He was a professor of international private law for 30 years at the Catholic University of Ecuador in Quito, from where he also earned a Doctor of Law degree. He is a member of the Quito Bar Association.
