About David Sewell

David Sewell is a partner at Freshfields. He represents a diverse array of banks, non-bank financial institutions, and fintech providers with charter and licensing matters; compliance with state and federal banking money transmission, and consumer finance laws – as well as BSA/AML and sanctions requirements; M&A and capital markets transactions; and investigations and enforcement matters before state and federal authorities. Earlier in his career, David served as counsel and assistant vice president at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. He has also worked in a senior role within the regulatory relations organisation of JP Morgan and as a congressional and White House aide.
