About Frédéric Scanvic

Frédéric Scanvic is a partner at Foley Hoag LLP, with broad experience in public and environmental law. Previously, Frédéric held positions at the French Constitutional and Administrative Supreme Court and then in the public sector as cabinet director in the Ministry of Culture, before becoming its managing director (where he supervised the legal department and was responsible for the development of a legal framework for IP and copyright law in France). He later became the managing director of the Region Ile-de-France, the Paris regional governmental entity. In the latter capacity, Frédéric supervised public contracts and tender offers (among other things). He has also worked for Arcelor, the French steelmaker, where he handled matters involving competition law. Frédéric is a member of the Paris Bar.
