About Aishath Shifala

Aishath Shifala has over a decade of experience in private practice, joining Premier Chambers in 2013, following three years at the Supreme Court of the Maldives as Deputy Legal Officer and Acting Registrar. Her main areas of expertise include corporate and commercial law, banking and finance, as well as Islamic banking and finance, foreign investments, tourism-related acquisitions and employment matters. She regularly advises foreign owners and operators of tourist resorts, handling complex legal issues and representing clients in litigation before the courts and tribunals of the Maldives. Notably, she was appointed by the President of the Maldives to the Privatisation and Corporatisation Board from the legal sector in January 2014. She served a full term of four years at the Board in that capacity.
