Aishath Shifala
has more than a decade of experience in private practice, joining Premier Chambers in 2013. Aishath’s main areas of expertise include corporate and commercial law, (Islamic) banking and finance, foreign investments, tourism-related acquisitions, and employment matters. She regularly advises foreign owners and operators of tourist resorts, handling complex legal issues and representing clients in litigation before the Maldives’ courts and tribunals. Previously, Aishath served as the Supreme Court of the Maldives’ deputy legal officer from 2010‒13, also serving as acting registrar for more than a year. Notably, the President of the Maldives appointed her to serve four years as the legal member of the Privatisation and Corporatisation Board.
