About Sofia-Maria Sventzouri

Sofia-Maria Sventzouri is counsel and head of the civil litigation practice of Machas and Partners, specialising in civil law with comprehensive experience in family law, tort law (including car accident lawsuits), inheritance and property law, and labour law. Sofia possesses extensive judicial experience across all these areas, before courts of all instances throughout Greece. She also has broad experience in administrative law and matters relating to first-degree local self-government. From 2003 to 2011, she collaborated with the law firm of the Legal Advisor of the Central Union of Municipalities of Greece (K.E.D.E.), handling cases of public procurement contracts, services and loans, legality checks of administrative decisions, pre-contractual, preventive and suspensive control of expenditures before the Hellenic Court of Audit. During the same period, she was extensively involved in drafting comments on bills and contributed to the preparation of draft Ministerial Orders and Presidential Decrees of the Ministry of Interior.
