About Varun Thakur

Varun Thakur is a senior associate and a key member of the AZB & Partners competition team. Working out of the Mumbai office, he has advised several clients on complex merger control proceedings in India, including many large Indian and global conglomerates, private equity investors and sovereign wealth funds. Varun has also represented clients before the CCI and the NCLAT in antitrust investigations in relation to cartels, vertical restraints, and abuse of dominance issues. He has advised several private equity investors, sovereign wealth funds and investment management companies on merger control aspects and proceedings of work that cuts across multiple industries, including renewable energy, pharmaceuticals, retail, financial services and IT.
