Hironori was on loan to the Insurance Business Division of the Supervisory Bureau of Financial Services Agency (FSA) in Japan as a fixed-term governmental official (April 2005 to May 2007), during which time he served in the Legal Compliance Research Office. He has been a member of the Japanese Society of Insurance Science since July 2007.
