José Ruíz López
is a partner at Creel Abogados and head of the antitrust practice; his key practice areas are competition law, corporate and M&A. Mr Ruiz has represented various companies in pre-merger filings with the Federal Economic Competition Commission (FECC), investigations initiated by the FECC with respect to relative (abuse of dominance) and absolute (cartels) monopolistic practices, and in advisory matters. He has represented national and multinational groups in transactions relating to acquisitions and sales of companies, including joint ventures. Mr Ruíz also represents mining groups, including subsidiaries of foreign public companies, in connection with their activities in Mexico, namely regulatory matters, compliance, acquisitions of exploration and exploitation projects, and due diligence processes.
